RoxieReading A, originally called Word Workshop A,  is designed to meet the needs of those who do not know the alphabet or the sounds they represent.

 It is an ideal Kindergarten curriculum because it can prevent reading failure. It is also appropriate for those of any age who are having difficulty learning the alphabet.

Description

RoxieReading A is appropriate for these students:

  1. Kindergarten classrooms
  2. Remedial kindergarten students who are having difficulty learning the alphabet.
  3. Special education students of any age who have been unable to learn the alphabet.
  4. English Language Learners in K – 3 who are just learning English.

Each lesson takes between 25-40 minutes, depending on the ability of students.  As students learn the procedures, the lessons take less time.

There are 236 pages, 26 beginning lessons + 89 additional lessons = 113 lessons.

Roxie Reading A: Words and Sentences provide student pages for each lesson.  Students practice reading words and sentences.

RoxieReading A: Teacher Resource provides templates for monitoring progress and dictation and other resources you can download and print.
